Week 29: Summer, Summer, Summertime!

We are already halfway through 2019. Do you realize that? It’s hard to believe that the year is flying by so fast, but before you know it we’ll be complaining about the cold instead of complaining about the heat! But if you’re anything like me, you’ll take the heat any day over the cold and snow.

Last Week

The Book Club for Adults brought in their favorite books from the beginning of 2019 while we ate up a delicious cream cheese coffee cake. Some favorites were Factfulness by Hans Rosling and Master and Commander by Patrick O’Brian.

A VDL favorite, Nelson “The Animal Guy” met with kids as part of Summer Adventure over at the Vicksburg Methodist Church on Thursday evening. He showed off his array of exotic animals, from a baby kangaroo to giant lizards to amazed children and parents!

This Week

Get ready to CREATE this Wednesday! Open to our BK/K-4th Summer Adventure participants, we’ll be painting outside with an array of pastels to please everyone. Come along and join us for a great and colorful time!

Going on vacation and need a good book to relax with? Chilling by the pool while the kids splash and need a little entertainment of your own? We have a great display of beach reads back by the fireplace for the next month to help pique your interest. And if you can’t find what you want, we can always order it up for you via Interlibrary Loan and MeL as well!
